Biography
Abdul is an Attorney in South Africa with 4 years of legal experience, and doubles up as a Legal Assistant at Wheat Legal PLLC where he provides support for our litigation, corporate, and transactional practice. He assists in preparation, revision, service, and filing of court documents; conducts research for complex legal questions; helps clients with the discovery process including assistance with processing exhibits and electronically stored information; and he also helps manage the firm’s court calendar by working together with Courts and opposing counsel to facilitate the scheduling of hearings, depositions, and briefing. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge from South African “Big Law” practice in the areas of commercial contract advisory, due diligence, and document review, all of which make him a perfect fit for supporting our diverse client base. At home he enjoys spending time with his wonderful family, reading about history, and attending book launches. He regularly attends Islamic seminars with his wife and son, and plays five-a-side soccer.
Abdul has extensive legal experience which allows him to communicate with clients to ensure they are kept informed about their matters from start to finish. Having dealt with various clients, from international to South African companies, and private individuals, Abdul caters to the specific needs of every client.

Abdul started his legal career with STBB Attorneys, one of the biggest Property Law firms in South Africa where he specialized in dispute resolution, commercial property law, commercial litigation, and family law. Thereafter, Abdul moved to the compliance sector where he worked for LexisNexis South Africa and Exigent Group (now Morae) with duties involving advisory on various commercial contracts, due diligence and document review, e-discovery, and litigation support. Before joining Wheat Legal PLLC, Abdul ventured into the alternative asset services sector where he worked as an Associate for the Irish Jurisdiction. His duties included drafting and reviewing board resolutions, board minutes, performing company filings with the Central Bank of Ireland, and he advised and communicated with high profile international clients in Ireland, UK, and Cyprus.†
